There is an old saying 'you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family.' I must say that someone out there is watching out for me because I have been blessed with the best family anyone could ask for. I love you all so dearly.
Mom: Not only have you become my bestfriend, but you have always been there for me. I remember thinking when I was in univeristy and didn't do well on an exam, most kids would not tell their parents, or lie, I remember the first people I wanted to talk to were you and Dad. You never put pressure on me, you let me find my own way, and I have. I love you so much Mom, they just don't make'em like you. You've taught me to be confidant, and never to let anyone stand in my way, and I thank you. I would not be the person I am today if I had not been blessed with the best Mom in the world-- Thank you always, xoxoxo
Dad: What can I say about my Dad? You have always been there Dad. From hockey practices, to ringette games, baseball practices, late-night drive homes. Nobody loves his kids more than you. You have been such a role model for me and I will always treasure our 'Father/Daughter' moments... Thank you for everything Dad, from the bottom of my heart. When I think of my Dad, all I can do is smile. You are the father I wish everyone had. I hope only some day I can reciprocate all the wonderful things you have done for me, but then again there isn't enough time in the world that would compare. I love you so much Dad, forever and always.
Derek: Who would have thought that a brother and sister who tormented eachother as kids so much could ever be so close? Derek, you are such a gifted, caring, and lovable person. I thank you for being such a wonderful brother and friend. You have no idea what all those university trips for my birthday meant to me... despite my answer 10 years ago, if given the opportunity, I could never choose a better brother than the one I have been blessed with, I love the one I have. Whatever you choose to do, you will succeed, and I am so thankful to be you little sister.
